Joanna's Grape Salad

Not sure where this originated, but I got the recipe from Joanna, hence the name. We used to have this on Gay St. all the time...

1 lb seedless red grapes
1 lb seedless green grapes
1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 8oz container sour cream
1 T vanilla
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped nuts (optional - walnuts, pecans, or both)

Place grapes in a large bowl - should be dry
Combine cream cheese and sugar, stirring well. Combine sour cream and vanilla in a separate bowl. Combine sour cream mixture and cream cheese mixture. Add to grapes, stirring well. Pour into serving dish, add brown sugar and nuts on top.

  1. to lighten, use neufchâtel cheese, 10 packets splenda instead of sugar, and fat free greek yogurt in place of sour cream.
